In polite society, the woman would be referred to as "statuesque". Normal people say "Amazonian" and hope they're not overheard. She pushes 6', easily, with shoulders way too broad for a lady. Dark hair, light-brown eyes, and nearsighted as hell. Without various pairs of glasses, ranging from huge bottleneck things to tiny reader-sized things, she can barely see two inches from her own nose. Overall build runs toward the skinnier end of things, purely from forgetfulness and not hours at the gym or extreme fitness. There are frequent dark circles under her eyes and ink stains on her fingers. Her nails are bitten down to the quick.

Percy was born into a family who was incredibly well-off, likely due to a long history with the local mafia or whathaveyou. She never was never terribly interested in her family business. She was expected, however, to be, and was supplied with enough education to hopefully further that expectation.
Percy took the money, the scholarships that landed in her lap seemingly from nowhere -- and were likely the result of familial meddling -- and became a scientist instead. She grew up estranged from her family, and from people in general. Sometime after recieving her doctorate, she realized her family had, more or less, cut off all contact and written her out of their lives, monetarily and socially.
She took the opportunity to throw herself further into study, and further away from people. Physics, engineering, chemistry, and computer science were all mastered, and Percy found herself catching the eye of a business tycoon, looking for a new head of his entire R&D department. She accepted, under the condition she could continue studying and lecturing -- she was working on biology next -- and developing her own research. Which they accepted.
